New Year's Celebration at the New Liskeard Community Hall
A great time was had by all as The Shores featuring Steve Benoit played great music on New Year's Eve 2019. Door prizes were drawn, a late night buffet was served, a free shuttle was offered and the tickets were just $45 for this delightful event. The tickets were sold at Chat Noir Bookstore and Yves' Prime Cut Meats.
This great event was organized by Marc Martin and a team of volunteers. Tickets ($15) were sold at Zante's Bar & Grill, RBC, Chat Noir Book store, Earlton RV, The Cobalt Classic Theatre, and Royal LePage Best Choice Realtor in New Liskeard. Chrissy's Photography deserves ample credit for offering to photograph the event! The event was a huge success!
The Temiskaming Art Gallery graciously donated 3 quilts to be raffled off on. Winners names were drawn on February 9th, 2020. Part of the proceeds went to Zack's Crib. Beautiful, hand-crafted quilts went to three incredibly lucky winners.
Bob and his team had fun with this fundraiser as it allowed them to show their personalities at work, where they would usually wear the same thing as everyone else! Ugly Sweater day allowed staff to showcase their Christmas sweaters. This meant a donation to Zack's Crib on their behalf, for which ZC is incredibly appreciative.

Temiskaming Self Storage owners/operators Stacy and Kevin Utas donate a storage unit
Stacy and Kevin Utas provided the Zack's Crib team with a storage unit, free of charge, to help with being able to accept donated items such as furniture, clothing and other items that ZC wouldn't have otherwise had the space to store. This helped the project immensely as it meant we didn't have to refuse any amazing donations. To the Utas, the ZC team is very grateful for the generous donation!

New Liskeard Hydro sparks up the BBQ to raise funds!
A team at the New Liskeard Hydro site hosted a BBQ this summer to raise money for the ZC project. This sparked great excitement for the ZC group as it, along with all of this great community's efforts will help immensely in the ZC project coming to fruition. The hot dogs and hamburgers apparently were a great hit as Hydro was able to offer us $896.15 as a result of the sales.
Dan Hackett - a one man show that attracted much attention!
A local resident, Dan Hackett, hosted and delivered on a promise of great food and excellent company at the 'Aloha Christmas Dinner' at the Bass Lake Resort. Stellar job Sarah Marsden, Miss Galaxy New Liskeard!
Sarah Marsden, Miss Galaxy New Liskeard, organized and delivered on an excellent event. She rallied a team of volunteers to help her with a bottle drive from which the funds raised were donated to both Northern Animal Rescue and Sanctuary and Zack's Crib. The community really did well with offering their empties for this great event. The ZC team wants to acknowledge Miss Marsden and her dedication to this fundraiser as it was a hit!
A Junior hero in our books! Cassandra Williams is a star!
Zack's Crib received a message from a great local resident letting us know that Cassandra Williams had a lemonade stand with some tasty treats set up at her family's yard sale. She had a sign indicating that the proceeds would be divided between the Pavilion Women's Centre and Zack's Crib. Right away our team communicated with Yves and Lianne and the entire board to make sure we got to see her and thank her personally. (photos at the bottom of this page). This amazing young lady selflessly offered her time and hard work to provide the ZC team with $165.00. At the young age of 10, this fantastic little human being is already showing signs of significant altruism! The ZC team wholeheartedly thanks her and deems her one of our local heros! Great job Cassandra. In photo, Cassandra stands with Yves Paille, President of Zack's Crib, father of Zack, and her mother Samantha who must be very proud of the daughter she is guiding so wisely!
